Anbernic RG Vita Pro finally gets Google Play Store support
Anbernic’s PS Vita-inspired RG Vita Pro has received an Android firmware update adding Google Play Store support plus system optimizations and bug fixes.
The Anbernic RG Vita Pro just became a lot more useful. A new Android firmware update adds Google Play Store support to the PS Vita-inspired handheld, fixing one of the strangest missing pieces in its original software setup. That matters because Android handhelds are not just for retro emulation anymore. Play Store access makes it easier to install native mobile games, cloud gaming apps, streaming tools, launchers and utilities without turning setup into a side quest.
The update also includes system optimizations and bug fixes, which is exactly what these devices need if they want to feel less like hobbyist toys and more like proper handheld platforms. There will still be questions around controls, performance and long-term support, but official Play Store access is a practical win.
