Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom brings boomer-shooter chaos to mobile pre-registration

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom is the kind of mobile announcement that does not need to explain itself for long. It is retro shooter violence, giant guns, grimdark battlefields and the promise of a premium-feeling Warhammer blast on phones. Nitro Games is adapting the Boltgun formula for Android and iOS, with pre-registration now open and the App Store currently pointing toward an August 26 release date.

The interesting question is whether a fast first-person boomer shooter can feel sharp enough on touchscreens without turning into thumb gymnastics. If controller support and mobile optimization land properly, this could be a nice counterweight to the usual mobile menu-RPG flood. Warhammer already has the monsters, weapons and noise. Now it just needs the controls to survive contact with real phones.
