Asus handheld rumor gives Computex another portable-gaming storyline

A new rumor suggests Asus may reveal another ROG handheld at Computex 2026, potentially extending the company’s portable PC gaming push after the ROG Xbox Ally line.

Asus handheld rumor gives Computex another portable-gaming storyline

Asus may have another handheld surprise waiting for Computex 2026, at least if the latest rumor is accurate. Notebookcheck reports talk of a new ROG handheld gaming PC reveal during the Taipei show, which starts on June 2. That timing is interesting because Asus has already been very active in the handheld PC space, and any new reveal would arrive while the market is still fighting over Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, ROG Ally models and a growing pile of Windows-based portable machines.

The obvious unknown is what this device actually is: a true successor, a special edition, a different form factor or simply a refreshed configuration. For Gameforce Mobile readers, the story matters because the border between mobile gaming, handheld PC gaming and cloud gaming keeps getting blurrier. A Windows handheld is not a phone, but it absolutely competes for the same portable playtime.
