MLB The Show Mobile Baseball enters launch-watch territory after pre-registration push

MLB The Show Mobile Baseball remains one of the more important sports launches to watch this week, even if regional app-store timing has made the exact rollout a little messy. GamingOnPhone’s earlier coverage pointed to a late-May mobile release window, while the pre-registration pitch highlights real-time gameplay controls, more than 900 player cards, official MLB and MLBPI teams, all 30 stadiums, PvP, Moments, Show Pass progression, marketplace features and a Momentum system.

That sounds like Sony is not simply throwing out a companion app and calling it a day. It wants a proper mobile baseball product built around shorter sessions and roster building. The key worry is whether the card economy overtakes the actual baseball. Sports mobile fans will forgive plenty if the match feel is good. They will forgive less if every swing feels like it came from a wallet.
