Acer Predator Atlas 8 gives Intel Arc G3 a serious handheld showcase

Acer Predator Atlas 8 is one of the clearest signs that Intel’s new handheld push is not just a chip announcement floating in space. Tom’s Hardware reports that Acer’s handheld uses Intel Arc G3 and G3 Extreme processors with Arc B370 or B390 graphics, an 8-inch 1920x1200 display, 120Hz variable refresh rate, dual-fan cooling and what Acer claims is a segment-first metal fan for improved airflow.

The device also includes modern handheld features like Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, a microSD slot and battery options up to 80Wh. That is a serious spec sheet for a market where cooling and battery life decide whether a handheld is actually usable. The big unknown is price. Premium Windows handhelds are already expensive, and Intel hardware needs to prove not only that it can run games well, but that it can do so without turning the device into an expensive hand warmer.
