Nekomancer: Tower Defense claws its way onto mobile today
SuperPlanet and Owl & Otter’s spooky cat tower-defense roguelike is listed for 31 May on Android and iOS, bringing undead armies, cat heroes, towers, dungeons and skill trees.
Nekomancer: Tower Defense is the cleanest 31 May launch for mobile players who believe the internet’s two strongest forces are cats and mild necromancy. SuperPlanet and Owl & Otter’s occult tower-defense game is listed for today on Android and iOS, with pre-registration already active before launch. The setup is immediately usable: Nox, an apprentice Nekomancer, accidentally unleashes an undead army after touching a forbidden tome and now needs to stop the chaos before anyone notices the magical workplace accident.
The gameplay pitch includes 21 cat characters, 20+ towers, dungeons, roguelike upgrades, skill trees and undead-themed battles. That is a good mobile fit because tower defense works naturally with touch controls, while roguelike upgrades can stop the formula from becoming one long lane-management nap. The question is whether the cute-cat style hides enough tactical bite. Cats will get players in. Good tower balance will keep them.
