MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ gives Intel Arc G3 Extreme its Computex spotlight
MSI’s new Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld uses Intel Arc G3 Extreme, Windows 11, Xbox Mode, Cooler Boost Hyperflow, an 80Wh battery and controller-style ergonomics.
MSI is trying to make the second Claw story a lot stronger than the first. At Computex 2026, the company introduced the Claw 8 EX AI+, a new Windows handheld powered by Intel Arc G3 Extreme. MSI is pitching it around handheld-optimized Intel performance, Xbox Mode, controller-style ergonomics, a new MSI Center M interface, Cooler Boost Hyperflow cooling and an 80Wh battery. That matters because the handheld PC market is now brutally competitive.
Steam Deck set the expectation for simplicity, AMD-based Windows handhelds chased power, and Intel’s earlier handheld reputation needed a reset. The Claw 8 EX AI+ is MSI’s chance to prove that Intel can deliver both performance and efficiency in a portable gaming form factor. Pricing will matter heavily, and so will real battery tests. A great spec sheet is only step one. The handheld has to survive a long session without becoming a warm disappointment.
