MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ shows Intel’s handheld comeback is getting serious
MSI’s Claw 8 EX AI+ uses Intel Arc G3 Extreme, an 8-inch 120Hz display, Hall-effect controls, improved grips, Wi-Fi 7 and an 80Wh battery.
MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ continues to be one of the biggest handheld PC stories after Computex. The device uses Intel’s new Arc G3 Extreme platform, aiming to give Intel a real second chance after the first Claw generation struggled to impress. Reported specs include an 8-inch 1920x1200 display with variable refresh up to 120Hz, Hall-effect sticks and triggers, a responsive D-pad, linear haptics, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, up to 32GB LPDDR5x memory and an 80Wh battery. That is a serious handheld spec sheet.
The bigger question is value. Some early listing chatter suggests very premium pricing, and handheld buyers are already comparing everything to Steam Deck, ROG Ally and AMD-powered rivals. MSI has the hardware story. Now it needs battery life, software polish and price discipline.
