MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ keeps Intel’s handheld comeback expensive but exciting
MSI’s Claw 8 EX AI+ uses Intel Arc G3 Extreme, an 8-inch 120Hz VRR display, Hall-effect controls, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and an 80Wh battery.
MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ remains one of the biggest handheld PC stories after Computex. The device uses Intel Arc G3 Extreme with integrated Arc B390 graphics, up to 32GB LPDDR5x memory, an 8-inch 1920x1200 touchscreen with 48–120Hz VRR, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and an 80Wh battery. Tom’s Hardware also notes Hall-effect sticks and triggers, a responsive D-pad and improved ergonomics. This matters because Intel needs a strong handheld reset after the first Claw wave struggled to convince players.
The hardware looks promising, but the price conversation is uncomfortable, with early listings suggesting a very premium configuration. Great handheld performance is exciting. Laptop-level pricing is where excitement meets reality.
