Intel Arc G-Series gives Windows handhelds a real AMD alternative
Intel’s Arc G-Series processors target handheld gaming PCs, with first systems from Acer, MSI and OneXPlayer expected from June 2026 onward.
Intel Arc G-Series remains the deeper hardware story behind the new handheld wave. Intel says Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme are designed for handheld PC gaming, with partner systems from Acer, MSI and OneXPlayer starting in June 2026 and broader availability through the year. That matters because AMD has dominated the Windows handheld conversation for years.
Intel now has a more serious second swing, with a platform built specifically for portable gaming rather than simply stuffing laptop silicon into a smaller shell and hoping nobody notices. The real test will be battery life, thermals, driver stability and price. Handheld chips do not win by being fast once. They win by staying fast after lunch.
