Pokémon Champions is now established on Android and iOS after launching on 17 June, bringing focused competitive Pokémon battles to smartphones with cross-platform connectivity. Players who log in before early September can still claim a free Raichu together with Raichunite X and Raichunite Y, the special stones required to access its two Mega Evolution forms. This is excellent news for anyone who believes one electrically charged mouse should have at least two additional ways to become extremely dangerous.

Champions is designed around battling rather than exploration. Players construct teams, train compatible Pokémon and compete through structured modes without travelling across a traditional region. That narrower focus makes the game particularly suitable for mobile. A battle can be completed during a short session, while team changes and strategy experiments are easy to manage from a phone.

Crossplay with Nintendo Switch expands the matchmaking population and prevents the mobile version from feeling like a separate, smaller ecosystem. The free Raichu distribution provides a useful incentive for new players and gives competitive fans immediate access to unusual tactical options. Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y offer different abilities and roles, encouraging players to build teams around the form that best suits their strategy.

Naturally, this has already generated extensive analysis, tier discussions and arguments conducted with the seriousness of international diplomacy.
