Saudi-based Floaty Studio has raised $1 million from Merak Capital, and that keeps the MENA mobile games investment story moving. The Riyadh developer is working on two mobile titles: Pirasea, a pirate strategy game, and Hero Squad, a sci-fi action game built around assembling heroes to fight robotic enemies. The amount is not mega-round money, but for an early studio it can be meaningful fuel: hiring, polishing, testing, UA experiments and pushing products closer to market.
It also fits the wider Saudi gaming push, where funding, accelerators and government-backed ambition are trying to turn regional talent into globally competitive studios.
