Saudi-based Floaty Studio has raised $1 million from Merak Capital, giving the Riyadh developer more fuel for two mobile titles: pirate strategy game Pirasea and sci-fi action game Hero Squad. This is a useful MENA mobile games signal because the region’s gaming ambitions need actual studios, not only big strategies and conference banners.

A million dollars will not build a global empire by itself, but for an early mobile team it can fund hiring, polish, testing, user acquisition experiments and better launch preparation. Saudi gaming keeps moving from ambition into execution, one studio round at a time.
