Saudi studio Floaty raises $1m for casual mobile games

Floaty Studio’s $1 million raise is another small but meaningful signal from Saudi Arabia’s growing games scene. The Riyadh-based developer is working on two mobile titles: pirate strategy game Pirasea and sci-fi action project Hero Squad. A million dollars will not build a global empire alone, but for an early mobile studio it can fund hiring, testing, polish and launch preparation. The wider MENA gaming story is full of ambition, but ambition only matters when studios ship real products.

Floaty now has more fuel to move from promise into execution.
