Outliver: Tribulation brings African-inspired horror to phones

Outliver: Tribulation remains one of the strongest horror picks on the mobile slate. It drops players into an African folklore-inspired nightmare as a soldier trapped in the Realm of Tribulations, facing supernatural trials, monsters, railgun-style combat, night vision and charms. That is a much fresher setup than another abandoned hospital full of predictable jump scares.

Mobile horror often struggles when controls and atmosphere fight each other, but Outliver at least has a strong identity and a setting that stands out. It is rough around the edges, but the ambition is real.
