Adjoe is making the case that rewarded UA is no longer just hypercasual territory. Its Playtime approach is being positioned as an external live-ops layer for hardcore games, helping players survive the dangerous early gap between install and real engagement. The idea is to reward meaningful milestones like tutorials, upgrades, PvE, guild actions and live-ops events, rather than just dumping users into complex systems and hoping they stay. For hardcore mobile titles, early churn is brutal.
If rewarded progression keeps players around long enough for the game to click, that could become a serious UA tool.
