Unity 7 unveiled ahead of 2027 launch

Unity 7 has been unveiled, and mobile developers should pay attention even though the full launch is planned for Q1 2027. The pitch includes AI tools and coding agents, faster Play Mode, quicker shader builds, new APIs and expanded rendering and monetisation tech. Crucially, Unity 6 projects are expected to move forward without a painful rebuild. That matters because toolchain disruption costs real money. For mobile studios, faster iteration can mean quicker testing, cleaner optimisation and better live updates.
