Monster Hunter Outlanders begins its third closed beta test today, giving selected mobile players another chance to explore TiMi Studio Group and Capcom's open-world take on the Monster Hunter formula. The test started at 04:00 CEST on August 7 and is available on both iOS and Android in Japan, the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and the Philippines.
This round adds radiant monsters and additional hunters that were not present during the second beta in May, while also implementing optimisation work based on feedback from previous testers. The developers are continuing to evaluate device support ahead of the full launch, with the current test requiring at least an iPhone XR running iOS 17 or an Android device using a Snapdragon 845-class chipset and Android 12.
Outlanders is one of the most ambitious attempts yet to bring a console-style hunting experience to phones, combining large environments, gathering, crafting and cooperative monster battles. The third beta is therefore important not only for content testing but for determining whether the game can deliver stable performance across a broad range of mobile hardware before its eventual commercial release.
