Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed mobile pre-registration opens ahead of September 16 launch

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is officially heading to iOS and Android on September 16, and mobile storefront pages are now allowing players to pre-order or pre-register ahead of release. THQ Nordic Mobile and Snapshot Games are bringing the complete 3D platforming remake to phones rather than creating a simplified spin-off. The adventure sends Mickey into Wasteland, a world built around forgotten Disney characters and environments.

Its signature mechanic gives players magical paint and thinner, allowing parts of the environment to be restored or erased. Those choices affect routes and encounters and give the game more flexibility than a straightforward platformer. The mobile version will cost $15.99 and is being adapted with touchscreen controls while retaining the premium one-time purchase model. That is notable in a mobile market dominated by free-to-play titles and subscriptions.

Modern high-end phones can now run games once considered firmly console territory, and publishers are increasingly willing to test whether users will pay for complete ports. The main challenge will be translating platforming, camera control and precision painting to touchscreens. September 16 gives the development team several more weeks to demonstrate how those controls will work before launch.
