MOONTON Games is expanding the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports structure with the MLBB Championship Tour Southeast Asia, scheduled to launch during the fourth quarter of 2026. The new competition is designed to give teams across Southeast Asia another pathway into the wider professional ecosystem and ultimately toward the M8 World Championship.
Mobile Legends already has deeply established professional leagues in several countries, but Southeast Asia contains many competitive communities outside the largest franchise-league markets. A broader championship structure can give those teams more meaningful opportunities without requiring entry into an existing MPL system.
The announcement follows other recent changes to Mobile Legends' international qualification structure and reinforces MOONTON's effort to create clearer connections between regional competition and global events. For aspiring professional players, an additional pathway can make the difference between community-level competition and exposure on an international stage. The biggest questions will concern participating territories, qualification formats and how the new tour interacts with established MPL leagues.
Those details will determine whether the Championship Tour becomes a genuine expansion of opportunity rather than simply another tournament on an already crowded esports calendar.
