Reigns: Beyond prepares to leave subscription exclusivity with standalone mobile release tomorrow

Reigns: Beyond is preparing for its standalone mobile return on August 12 after previously being associated with Apple Arcade. Developed by Nerial and published by Devolver Digital, the game takes the series' familiar left-or-right decision system into space, placing players in charge of an intergalactic indie rock band. Each choice can influence crew morale, resources and the group's chances of surviving its increasingly strange journey across the galaxy.

The simple swipe interface disguises a structure built around balancing competing priorities and dealing with unpredictable consequences. According to its current App Store listing, the standalone iOS edition is priced at $4.99, while mobile pre-registration has been promoted ahead of launch. Reigns works particularly well on phones because almost every decision can be made with a single gesture, yet the consequences accumulate across longer runs.

Beyond adds band members, space travel and resource management to that established formula. Its return outside a subscription service is also part of a broader trend in which games previously tied to Apple Arcade or Netflix are becoming available through conventional storefront purchases.
