The standard Pixel 11 may be more capable than some earlier leaks suggested. A new report circulating one day before launch claims that Google could offer a 12GB RAM configuration and retain meaningful telephoto capability on the base model, contradicting earlier information that had pointed toward an 8GB configuration and weaker camera hardware. The competing reports underline why unannounced specifications should still be treated cautiously until Made by Google takes place tomorrow.
A 12GB option would be easier to justify if the Pixel 11 receives the widely expected price increase, particularly as premium Android buyers increasingly compare memory, storage and camera flexibility across similarly priced devices. Google is also expected to introduce Tensor G6 and Android 17 alongside additional Gemini capabilities. The standard model is strategically important because it represents the most accessible entry point into the flagship Pixel family.
If Google can retain strong camera hardware while improving performance and efficiency, the Pixel 11 could be considerably more competitive than initial rumours implied. Full specifications should finally be confirmed on August 12.
