Genshin Impact Version 7.0 goes live with Snezhnaya and a major new chapter

Genshin Impact Version 7.0 launches on August 12, opening Snezhnaya and beginning one of the most anticipated chapters in HoYoverse's long-running action RPG. The region has been part of the game's world-building since the earliest stages of the story because of its connection to the Fatui and the Cryo Archon. Version 7.0 adds new characters, exploration rewards, story quests and additional elemental interactions while giving players a completely new area to investigate.

Major numbered updates are always important for Genshin because they reset the exploration rhythm: new waypoints, puzzles, materials, enemies and regional systems give even veteran players large amounts of fresh content. On mobile, storage and performance will again be closely watched as the world grows larger. HoYoverse has spent years improving resource management, but a game of Genshin's scale remains demanding on older phones.
