Marmalade Game Studio has reported £12.7 million, approximately $17.1 million, in FY25 revenue, while adjusted EBITDA more than doubled to £5.2 million. The results are notable because Marmalade has built much of its business around digital versions of familiar board games rather than chasing the dominant free-to-play character-collection model.

Titles associated with properties such as Monopoly and The Game of Life can remain commercially useful for years because their rules and brands are already understood by a broad audience. Marmalade has also diversified distribution, including support for platforms such as Amazon Luna, reducing dependence on a single mobile storefront.

The improved profitability suggests that catalogue management and premium purchases can remain viable when development costs are controlled and the underlying intellectual property has lasting appeal. That contrasts with the pressure facing many live-service studios, which need constant content production and expensive user acquisition simply to maintain attention.

Marmalade still needs new releases and platform expansion to support growth, but its results provide a useful reminder that the mobile business is not limited to one monetisation model. Strong evergreen games can create durable revenue without requiring an endless stream of limited-time character banners.
