Pixel Tag becomes Google's $29 answer to AirTag with UWB and Find Hub support

Google has officially announced Pixel Tag, its first first-party item tracker for the Find Hub network. The compact accessory will cost $29 individually or $99 for a four-pack when it reaches stores on November 11. Pixel Tag supports Ultra-Wideband precision finding alongside Bluetooth Channel Sounding, allowing compatible Android devices to provide visual distance and directional guidance when searching nearby.

The tracker is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance and uses a replaceable coin-cell battery designed to last around a year. It includes a speaker for audible finding and a physical button that can also be used to make a paired phone ring. Owners can share access with up to ten other people, useful for commonly used objects such as luggage or household keys. Find Hub provides broader location tracking by using nearby Android devices when a tagged item is outside direct Bluetooth range.

Google is also integrating the device with Pixel Watch and Gemini, allowing users to trigger a sound through other Pixel products. Pixel Tag arrives years after Apple's AirTag established the category, but Android's enormous installed base gives Google's network the potential to become a particularly powerful competitor.
