Pokémon GO's anniversary celebration arrives after an exceptionally strong commercial month, with July revenue reportedly reaching approximately $141.5 million, the game's highest monthly level in four years. Spending accelerated around tenth-anniversary activities and Pokémon GO Fest 2026, demonstrating that a decade-old mobile title can still generate substantial bursts of growth when live events and major rewards align.
The result is especially notable because Pokémon GO's core loop remains recognisable from its 2016 debut. Its durability comes from community participation, location-based play, regular Pokémon releases and large in-person events rather than constant reinvention of the underlying mechanics. The newly available perfect-stat Mewtwo Timed Research gives Scopely another strong reason to bring former players back into the game during August.
Pokémon GO is also building toward September's Mega Finale weekend, where Mega Mewtwo X and Y will feature in large raid events. Sustaining anniversary-level revenue every month is unrealistic, but the July performance demonstrates the value of treating major milestones as global events rather than simple login bonuses. For the wider mobile industry, Pokémon GO remains one of the strongest examples of a live-service game successfully evolving into a long-term entertainment platform.
