Moto G Max launches in India with 7,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4

Motorola has launched the Moto G Max in India today, August 14, bringing a particularly large 7,000mAh battery into the mainstream mid-range smartphone market. The phone uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and a 120Hz display, while the rear camera system is led by a 50MP Sony sensor. Motorola is heavily emphasising endurance, describing the battery as capable of multi-day use under typical conditions.

The device also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and durability features intended to make it suitable for more demanding everyday use. For mobile gamers, battery capacity is the obvious attraction. The Snapdragon 6s platform is not intended to challenge flagship gaming processors, but a 7,000mAh cell provides far more room for extended play than many conventional phones. A 120Hz panel can also make menus and supported lighter games feel smoother.

The G Max arrives as manufacturers increasingly use silicon-carbon battery technology and denser cells to push capacity beyond the 5,000mAh level that dominated smartphones for years. Motorola's launch is therefore part of a broader 2026 trend where endurance is becoming a headline specification across affordable and mid-range devices rather than a niche feature reserved for rugged or gaming phones.
