Tensor G6 puts on-device AI at the centre of Google's Pixel 11 strategy

Tensor G6 is now beginning its first independent testing cycle after debuting inside the Pixel 11 family. Google says the processor's upgraded CPU enables web browsing up to 25 percent faster and application launches around 15 percent quicker than the previous generation. The larger change is on the machine-learning side, where Google claims 50 percent more TPU compute. Combined with the newest Gemini Nano model, selected on-device AI tasks can run several times faster while using substantially less power.
That tells users exactly where Google's priorities lie. Tensor is designed to power photography, speech recognition, translation, Gemini features and security rather than simply chase the highest synthetic benchmark score. For gamers, however, graphics performance and heat management cannot be ignored. Previous Tensor generations often fell behind Snapdragon competitors during demanding long sessions even when normal interface performance felt excellent.
Independent reviews will need to determine whether G6 closes that gap. If efficiency improvements allow the chip to maintain stable frame rates without excessive heat, Pixel 11 could become more attractive to gaming-focused buyers. If not, Google's latest phones may remain best suited to users who value camera processing and AI above maximum graphics performance.
