Samsung has maintained its smartphone-market leadership in the Middle East despite a difficult regional environment, while mid-range devices have become the strongest-performing part of the market. Recent shipment data shows phones priced roughly between $300 and $800 growing around 16 percent year over year as buyers increasingly seek flagship-style features without paying full premium prices.
Entry-level shipments declined sharply, indicating that consumers and manufacturers are moving away from the very cheapest devices. Apple remains particularly strong at the high end in markets including the UAE and Qatar, helped by financing and sustained premium demand. The shift is relevant to mobile gaming because the mid-range category now includes high-refresh OLED screens, large batteries and processors capable of running major free-to-play titles comfortably.
Users no longer need to buy the most expensive flagship to access solid gaming performance. Samsung benefits from having models across nearly every price tier and from an established retail and service network across the region. The data also demonstrates a broader global trend: buyers are keeping phones longer and becoming more selective, forcing manufacturers to offer visibly useful improvements rather than relying on annual specification increases alone.
