Moto G Max begins first weekend in India with enormous 7,000mAh battery

Motorola's Moto G Max begins its first weekend in the Indian market after launching on August 14. The phone is built around a 7,000mAh battery, placing it among a growing wave of mainstream Android devices moving well beyond the 5,000mAh capacity that dominated the industry for years. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 provides the processing platform, while the display supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 50MP Sony main camera.

The phone is not designed to compete with premium gaming flagships in raw GPU performance, but battery capacity is a major advantage for users who play games or stream media for extended periods. The larger trend is arguably more important than one model. Silicon-carbon technology and higher-density battery designs are allowing manufacturers to increase capacity without making every handset excessively thick.

As those improvements move into mainstream phones, multi-day endurance may become an expected feature rather than something reserved for rugged hardware.
