Samsung One UI 9 Beta 5 fixes more Galaxy S26 bugs as stable Android 17 release moves closer

Samsung's One UI 9 Beta 5 is now available to Galaxy S26-series testers in several markets as the company moves closer to a stable Android 17 release. The roughly 1.1GB build includes the August security patch and focuses heavily on fixing problems rather than introducing another wave of headline features. Reported corrections address Settings freezes, white-screen issues, lock-screen camera behaviour and problems affecting floating interface elements.

Earlier One UI 9 builds already introduced deeper Quick Panel customisation, Samsung Notes improvements, security changes and accessibility refinements. The increasing emphasis on stability is a sign that the beta programme is entering a later phase. Users should still remember that beta software can cause unexpected battery, banking-app or connectivity problems and is not ideal for mission-critical phones.

Samsung faces additional pressure because Android 17 is already shipping on Google's newest Pixels and Motorola has started its own stable rollout. A finished One UI 9 release will eventually need to reach a far larger installed base than either competitor. For Galaxy gamers, eliminating navigation and performance bugs is particularly important before the software moves beyond testing.
