OnePlus reaches another symbolic milestone in its retreat from North America today. The company's US Community website and app are scheduled to close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on August 16. Users who want to preserve old posts, images, guides or troubleshooting discussions have been advised to save material before the closure.
OnePlus has separately confirmed that it is concluding new product rollouts across Europe and North America, although previously sold devices will continue receiving the software updates, security patches, warranty coverage and after-sales support already promised. That distinction is important for existing owners: the closure does not mean phones suddenly stop functioning or lose support tonight.
It does, however, mark the disappearance of a community platform that played a major role in OnePlus' early enthusiast identity. The upcoming OnePlus 16 is now expected to focus primarily on markets such as China rather than returning to the US or Europe. For Western Android enthusiasts, the change removes one of the more aggressively performance-focused alternatives to Samsung and Google and demonstrates how difficult maintaining a global smartphone business has become.
