Early iQOO 16 leaks suggest the company's next flagship could push mobile display refresh rates further with a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung-made panel running at up to 165Hz. The phone is also tipped to use Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and introduce a redesigned rear camera module. None of those details have been formally confirmed by iQOO, so they should be treated as pre-release information rather than final specifications.
The rumoured 165Hz display is particularly interesting for gaming because most premium smartphones remain at 120Hz or 144Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported competitive games feel more responsive, although only if the GPU can consistently produce matching frame rates. The chipset is expected to be among Qualcomm's highest-performance mobile platforms, making iQOO's flagship an obvious gaming-oriented candidate even if the company does not market it as a specialist phone.
Battery size, cooling and software optimisation will ultimately matter just as much as the headline panel specification. The leaks arrive while iQOO is preparing the more affordable Z11 for an August 20 launch, giving the brand activity at both ends of its performance range.
