BGMI Lite confirmed for India as Krafton targets lower-end smartphones before the end of 2026

Krafton India has confirmed that Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite is planned for release before the end of 2026, responding to years of community requests for a version aimed at less powerful smartphones. BGMI has become one of India's most visible mobile games, but its expanding assets, maps and visual requirements can create difficulties for players using affordable devices or phones with limited storage.

A dedicated Lite edition gives Krafton an opportunity to broaden the competitive audience without expecting everyone to own premium hardware. Details remain limited, and the company has not yet published a precise launch date, minimum specifications or full explanation of how content will differ from standard BGMI.

The announcement arrives alongside the separate PUBG Mobile Light initiative, suggesting accessibility and installation size are becoming major priorities across Krafton's mobile battle-royale portfolio. The most important question will be interoperability. Players will want to know whether Lite accounts, cosmetics and matchmaking remain connected to the existing BGMI ecosystem or operate separately.
