Motorola's Moto G Max reaches Indian stores on August 20, putting the mid-range handset three days away from its first sale. The phone costs ₹27,999 before launch promotions and uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Its standout specification is a 7,000mAh battery, reflecting the rapid expansion of large silicon-carbon cells into mainstream smartphones. The 6.72-inch FHD+ display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, while a 50MP Sony LYTIA camera leads the rear imaging system.
Motorola ships the device with Android 16-based Hello UI. The G Max is not designed to challenge specialised gaming phones in raw GPU performance, but its enormous battery gives players significantly more freedom for extended sessions. A 120Hz display also improves everyday responsiveness and lighter games capable of running at high frame rates. Motorola joins Redmi, HONOR and others in turning battery capacity into one of 2026's most competitive specifications.
The crucial question will be whether the phone remains comfortable in weight and thickness despite carrying substantially more energy than last generation's typical 5,000mAh models.
