NUU's X10 5G is now in its first full day of US availability after launching on August 16 at $219.99. The unlocked phone uses a 6.8-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, MediaTek's Dimensity 6100+ processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A 5,000mAh battery provides power, while the main rear camera uses a 50MP sensor. NFC and Android 16 are also included.
None of those specifications are designed to compete with flagship devices, but the value proposition is different: NUU is offering unlocked 5G connectivity and a high-refresh display for close to $200. That is increasingly notable as component costs push even budget phones upward. The 90Hz panel should make navigation and casual games feel smoother than traditional 60Hz entry-level hardware, though 4GB of RAM creates obvious limits for heavy multitasking and the most demanding modern games.
As a backup device, first smartphone or inexpensive unlocked handset, the X10 provides a useful reminder that the mobile market is not entirely focused on $1,000 flagships. Affordable hardware remains essential to expanding access to 5G services.
