Early information surrounding the future iQOO 16 suggests the flagship could use a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung-made display capable of refreshing at up to 165Hz. The phone is also rumoured to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and a redesigned rear camera arrangement. iQOO has not formally announced these specifications, making them pre-release leaks rather than confirmed hardware. A 165Hz panel would nevertheless be notable.
Most flagship smartphones remain at 120Hz, while gaming-oriented models increasingly reach 144Hz. Moving to 165Hz provides even lower display latency, but only games capable of rendering at similarly high frame rates can take full advantage. That means cooling and sustained GPU performance matter just as much as the panel itself. The rumoured Snapdragon platform should provide substantial raw speed, though power efficiency will determine whether the phone can maintain it during long sessions.
iQOO has traditionally targeted performance-focused buyers, so the direction would fit the brand's existing strategy. The leak arrives just days before the more affordable Z11 launches in India, giving iQOO attention at both mid-range and future flagship levels.
