Google's Pixel 11 Pro Fold reaches stores today at $1,899, combining an eight-inch internal display with Tensor G6, 16GB of RAM and Android 17's large-screen software. Google has made the new foldable thinner and lighter, improved its main camera and increased screen brightness while adding Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. Today's reviews generally agree that it is more polished than the previous generation, but several also argue that Samsung and other foldable manufacturers are moving faster on physical design.
The visible display crease and relatively bulky proportions remain points of comparison against thinner competitors. Google's advantages lie in its direct control of Android, camera software and features such as multitasking Bubbles and Camera Looks. Gaming benefits obviously from the much larger internal canvas, particularly for strategy games, cloud streaming and interface-heavy RPGs. Thermal management remains a question because thin foldables have less room for cooling than gaming tablets.
At laptop-level pricing, the Pro Fold needs to work as both a primary phone and a genuinely useful small tablet. Today's retail launch begins the real test.
