Pixel Tag waits until November while Google's Find Hub ecosystem grows around the new Pixel family

Google's Pixel Tag remains scheduled for November 11 rather than joining today's Pixel phone and Watch retail launch. The compact first-party tracker will cost $29 individually or $99 in a four-pack and is designed around Google's Find Hub network. Bluetooth handles basic nearby locating, while compatible devices can use ultra-wideband and Bluetooth Channel Sounding for more precise guidance. Pixel Tag includes a replaceable battery, speaker and physical control capable of making a paired phone ring.

The strategically important part is Google's network rather than the tracker itself. Find Hub can use nearby Android devices to help locate items outside the owner's direct Bluetooth range, potentially giving Pixel Tag access to an enormous crowdsourced finding system. Google also incorporates unknown-tracker alerts to reduce misuse for stalking. The product arrives several years after Apple's AirTag, but the Android install base gives Google the scale to become a serious competitor immediately.

Today's Pixel 11 launch makes Find Hub more visible, while November will determine whether the tracking experience works consistently across the wider Android ecosystem.
