2K launches NBA 2K HQ today on iOS and Android, replacing the long-running MyNBA2K companion application with a more substantial mobile hub for NBA 2K27. The new app arrives five days before NBA 2K27 Early Access begins on August 26 and includes the complete MyPLAYER Builder, allowing users to create and upload a player build from their phone before entering the main game. Social tools, account access, support links and other companion functions are also integrated into one application.
NBA 2K HQ requires at least iOS 18 on Apple devices or Android 11 on supported Android hardware. There are no in-app purchases inside the companion app itself, with transactions continuing through console or PC accounts. The old MyNBA2K application was delisted on August 18 and is formally sunset today. Building a player away from the console is particularly useful for users who spend considerable time experimenting with attribute combinations before starting MyCAREER.
The launch also illustrates how publishers increasingly use mobile not only for standalone games but as a persistent layer around major console ecosystems.
