POCO M8x 5G launches in India today with Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 and a 7,900mAh battery

POCO launches the M8x 5G in India today, August 21, bringing Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 platform to the country's affordable smartphone market. The handset combines the chipset with LPDDR4X memory, UFS 2.2 storage and a 6.9-inch 120Hz LCD. Battery capacity is a substantial 7,900mAh, supported by 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging. A 50MP main rear camera and 8MP front camera cover photography, while IP64 protection provides basic resistance against dust and splashes.

POCO is also using a large vapour-chamber cooling system to help maintain performance during extended workloads. Prices begin around ₹20,999 for the base configuration, placing the phone into a highly competitive part of the Indian market. The processor is not designed for flagship gaming, but the combination of a large battery and 120Hz screen makes the M8x relevant to mainstream players.
