TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G goes on sale in India today with 144Hz AMOLED and rear Alive Matrix display

TECNO's POVA 8 Pro 5G begins Indian retail sales today after being introduced earlier this week. The phone starts at ₹49,999 before launch offers and uses MediaTek's Dimensity 7400 Ultimate platform alongside a 1.5K AMOLED display capable of refreshing at 144Hz. TECNO's most visible design feature is the Alive Matrix Display built into the rear camera area using 177 individually controlled mini LEDs.

It can show alerts, battery information and gaming-related effects, giving the phone an identity beyond a conventional illuminated logo. A 6,500mAh battery supports 45W charging, while the main camera uses a 50MP Sony sensor with optical stabilisation. IP68, IP69 and additional durability ratings strengthen the hardware package. The POVA 8 Pro is clearly targeted toward performance-oriented users, although its ₹50,000-class pricing places it against powerful Snapdragon rivals.

Independent gaming tests will therefore matter considerably. Today's sale moves the device from launch presentation to real customer hardware, where sustained frame rates, thermals and battery behaviour can finally be judged properly.
