Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls remains unavailable for new Apple Arcade downloads

Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls remains delisted from Apple Arcade after being removed for new downloads on August 20. Existing users have until September 3 before Konami shuts the game down completely. Grimoire of Souls has already experienced an unusual history: an earlier mobile version disappeared before the project later returned through Apple Arcade with a revised monetisation model.

The side-scrolling action game brings together characters and locations drawn from across Castlevania's history, making the approaching shutdown particularly unfortunate for preservation. Server-dependent mobile games can effectively cease to exist once service ends, regardless of how much time players invested. Subscription services complicate that further because users never own a conventional permanent licence.

Unless Konami eventually creates an offline edition, September 3 could mark the final official opportunity to play Grimoire of Souls. Existing subscribers therefore have less than two weeks to finish remaining chapters or revisit the game before another piece of mobile gaming history becomes inaccessible.
