PUBG Mobile Light pre-registration is now three days away

PUBG Mobile Light is three days away from opening pre-registration on August 25. Krafton's new streamlined client is designed for players whose devices struggle with the increasingly large standard PUBG Mobile installation. Reports surrounding the project describe a substantially smaller initial download with optional content installed modularly, allowing users to add maps and higher-resolution assets only when needed. The important distinction is that this is not simply a resurrection of the old PUBG Mobile Lite.

Krafton's current strategy is intended to preserve the broader PUBG Mobile ecosystem while reducing storage and performance barriers. That approach could become increasingly important across mobile gaming because long-running live services naturally accumulate maps, audio, cinematics and cosmetics until installation size becomes a competitive disadvantage. Budget smartphones with 64GB or 128GB storage remain extremely common worldwide.

Pre-registration on August 25 should provide clearer official information on supported devices, regional availability and how account interoperability works. A full commercial launch is expected later in 2026.
