Fairphone's Gen 6+ continues its newly launched US push this weekend at $649.99, giving American buyers direct access to one of the most repairable mainstream smartphones available. The updated model uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage while retaining Fairphone's modular construction. Owners can replace components such as the screen, USB-C port and battery individually using ordinary tools rather than replacing the entire device.
Fairphone also provides a five-year warranty and software support extending through 2033. The company is not competing for gaming benchmark records; its argument is that longevity, repairability and responsible sourcing should themselves be premium features. Snapdragon 7-series hardware is nevertheless capable of running mainstream mobile titles comfortably. The more important long-term advantage for users may be the ability to install a fresh battery years later instead of discarding a still-functional phone.
US availability gives Fairphone significantly greater visibility in a market dominated by Apple, Samsung and Google.
