NCSoft and VIC Game Studios have opened registration for the second closed beta of Limit Zero Breakers, with the Frontier Test scheduled to begin September 9. The anime-styled action RPG is expanding significantly compared with its earlier test. Players will receive access to chapter three of the main story, additional side narratives, more characters and raid content, providing a much better indication of what the final game is intended to become.
Limit Zero Breakers combines fast real-time combat with an unusually polished animated presentation, to the point that screenshots can resemble material from an established anime adaptation rather than a new original property. That visual identity is useful, but it also raises expectations for character writing and world-building.
Mechanically, the title features familiar hack-and-slash systems alongside more distinctive abilities, including attacks associated with the enormous Weaver Lance carried aboard its airship. The September beta will matter particularly for mobile optimisation. Stylish action RPGs are among the most demanding games on modern phones, and sustained performance, heat management and control responsiveness will be as important as visual spectacle.
