Public voting remains underway for the GamingonPhone Awards 2026, with categories spanning Game of the Year, Ongoing Game of the Year, Most Anticipated Game, subscription releases, visual design, audio, voice acting, communities and crossover events. Winners are scheduled to be revealed in Bangkok on October 28. The awards arrive at an interesting moment for the definition of mobile gaming itself.
Many of the industry's most technically ambitious releases now launch simultaneously across phones, PCs and consoles, while subscription services and cloud platforms continue to blur the distinction further. That makes categories such as mobile visual design or subscription game increasingly difficult to judge purely by traditional smartphone standards.
Public voting also gives established live-service communities significant influence, meaning long-running games can compete with heavily marketed new releases on enthusiasm rather than launch-week spending. Even though awards rarely affect how people actually play, nomination lists provide a useful snapshot of which communities remain active and which new projects have successfully broken through the enormous volume of mobile releases.
