Vivo has launched the V80 Lite 5G in Pakistan, pairing a 120Hz curved AMOLED display with an unusually large 7,050mAh battery and MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset. The phone also includes a 50-megapixel main camera and sits within Vivo's increasingly crowded mid-range portfolio. The battery capacity is particularly noteworthy because 2026 is rapidly turning into the year mainstream Android phones moved beyond the long-standing 5,000mAh plateau.
Improved battery chemistry allows manufacturers to increase capacity without making devices proportionally thicker, and consumers are beginning to expect multi-day endurance from phones that would previously have required daily charging. Mobile gaming benefits immediately because high refresh rates, 5G and sustained processor load are among the fastest ways to drain a conventional battery. The challenge is balancing endurance with weight, thermal management and recharge times.
Vivo's continued expansion of large-capacity batteries suggests manufacturers believe buyers now consider runtime a headline specification again, rather than something incremental processor efficiency alone can solve.
