Seoul-based developer Izzle has released Guidus One on iOS and Android, expanding its pixel-art Guidus universe with a mobile-first roguelike designed around vertical one-handed play. Players explore procedurally changing dungeon floors filled with traps, monsters and bosses while choosing heroes, abilities and Karma effects that alter each run. The vertical interface is more significant than it might initially appear.

Many mobile action games simply compress interfaces originally designed for landscape displays, while Guidus One is constructed around the idea that players may be holding a phone in one hand on public transport or during short breaks. That makes the title a useful example of genuinely mobile-specific design rather than another cross-platform port.

Its combination of grid movement and real-time encounters also creates a slower rhythm than twitch-heavy action roguelikes, potentially making touch controls more manageable. Roguelikes are exceptionally crowded on mobile in 2026, however, so Guidus One will need its hero combinations and dungeon variety to remain interesting after the initial novelty of its presentation fades.
