CMF Buds Neo bring active noise cancellation to the $25 earbud tier

Nothing's CMF brand has launched the Buds Neo, an aggressively priced pair of wireless earbuds designed as the company's lowest-cost entry into its audio ecosystem. Despite a price around $25 in supported markets, the earbuds include 12.4mm dynamic drivers, active noise cancellation and integration with the Nothing X application. The charging case continues CMF's distinctive geometric design language rather than disguising the product as a generic budget accessory.

The launch demonstrates how quickly features once associated with premium wireless earbuds have moved downward in price. Active noise cancellation in particular has become expected even in inexpensive products, forcing brands to compete more heavily on tuning, microphone quality, reliability and software. Nothing can also use the Buds Neo as an ecosystem gateway: someone buying inexpensive earbuds may later consider a CMF or Nothing phone.

The obvious question is where compromises have been made to reach the price. Real-world ANC effectiveness, codec support and call quality will determine whether the Buds Neo are genuinely disruptive or simply impressive on a specification sheet.
